The United Kingdom’s Daily Mirror posted an insane video of a prop plane flying along when all of a sudden, a bag from the cargo hold flies by and gets chopped up by the blades. It’s not clear where this took place or what the route was but according to the caption, it was due to the cargo hold not being properly closed.
Here’s the video (embedded below) and the caption: “The plane had to make an emergency landing and it’s reported that the cargo hold was not correctly closed.”

It’s remarkable that this was even captured on video but I’m guessing it was from a passenger who is an aviation geek like me, who is constantly in awe of travel and records everything. The video was posted on multiple social media platforms and the comments are pretty funny. Here are some of them:
@spacedoutofit: Propeller took it like a champ.
@khairulaizatsaleh: Ryanair gate agent when they found out the bag is not cabin size
@josssie_04: No wonder our bags have been missing 🤣🤣
@bob.wilkos1: Give the guys who built the propeller a bonus that things strong as hell.
@ZachRich: Me looking at the window knowing my laptop is in that bag
@wh05_bat: Came for the comments by aviation experts …..wasn’t disappointed
The comments are funny but obviously this incident is not. Imagine being on the plane and seeing this? I would immediately hit the call button and tell the flight attendant, show them the video and tell them to tell the pilot they need to make an emergency landing. Not only is it dangerous for the plane but all the other luggage in the hold must have fallen out and hopefully not on anyone (on the ground or on a boat since it looks like they were over an ocean).
Do you know where this took place? One comment said it happened in Chile but I can’t confirm it so please let me know either via email or by leaving a comment below.
