I travel to 20+ countries a year sharing my firsthand knowledge of reward travel, travel credit card deals, travel tips and more.
Virgin Atlantic, which was founded in 1984 by serial entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, has just opened their new clubhouse at LAX. I was fortunate to be on hand for the ribbon-cutting and to take an exclusive tour. Here are the highlights:
The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse is located on the sixth floor of the Tom Bradley International Terminal. Passengers flying Virgin Atlantic Upper Class or Delta One can access the exclusive Delta One entrance next door at Terminal 3 (arrivals). They also have their own private TSA, which offers a much smoother experience than the regular security at TBIT.
Guests can unwind, work or dine in the Ruby Room, a Hollywood-inspired area with its own cinema offering wireless Bluetooth headsets. For VIPs, The Royal Box provides a private retreat with adjustable mood lighting and an exclusive secret menu.
For those seeking a quiet place to concentrate, The Wing offers acoustically-sealed work pods inspired by Virgin Records’ storied legacy. Named after iconic studios like The Manor, Olympic Studios and Sunset Sound, these pods pay homage to the legendary artists who once recorded there. This was my favorite part of the lounge.
For those wanting to fuel up before their flight, table service is available at every seat, allowing guests to order from their preferred spot.
The menu features signature dishes and wholesome options to cater to all dietary needs, such as a tuna poke bowl, California roll, tofu pho, Californian fig salad and more. For a quick, health-conscious bite, guests can also help themselves to items like Mediterranean quinoa salad, raw veggies with hummus, citrus kale salad and trail mix at the self-serve brasserie.
The beverage menu includes a variety of low and no-alcohol options, such as TRIP Mindful Blend, which promotes sleep and wellness by combining lion’s mane, magnesium, ashwagandha, and L-theanine with a blend of nature’s botanicals. For those seeking a more spirited option, Virgin Atlantic’s in-house mixologist has crafted cocktails like the Twisted Angel, designed specifically for Angelenos. This drink features Aperol and gin, with a playful nod to the ethereal halo that lights up the bar.
The Zen Den is an immersive space offering relaxation, movement, and mindfulness sessions powered by the award-winning FORME Studio smart fitness mirror. It’s a unique way to unwind, refresh, refocus, or reenergize before your stylish transatlantic journey. Guests can explore three exclusive categories – Mind, Body and Spirit – each featuring a selection of guided sessions from FORME’s extensive library. It’s available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be used for up to an hour.
When it’s time to freshen up, shower and body products from Flamingo Estate’s Garden Essentials collection enhance the sensory experience. Enjoy the Rosemary and Clary Sage Body Wash and Hand Soap, nourishing Rosemary Shampoo and Tulsi Conditioner and the Clary Sage and Ionian Bergamot Body Lotion for a truly indulgent experience.
No doubt Sir Richard had a say in the design of it all and I’m excited to really experience it when I’m traveling. This tour definitely whet my appetite.
