I love baseball and I especially love great catches, which is why this video of the Dodgers “batboy” nonchalantly catching a rogue foul ball at the top of the dugout as everyone else ducked, including superstar Shohei Ohtani, is well-worth watching.

L.A. Dodgers batboy makes incredible catch that may have saved Shohei Ohtani's life.As you can see from the video embedded below, the batboy is more like a batman because he doesn’t look like a kid and seems to have superpowers. According to a tweet by Holly Peete, actress and wife of ex-NFL quarterback Rodney Peete, it was her son’s 38-year-old co-worker named Javier.

The seven-second video, originally shared by Ben Verlander, MLB analyst, with the caption, “Give that kid a raise. He just saved Shohei Ohtani’s life.”

Shohei was waiting in the dugout to warm up on the on-deck circle of last night’s game against the Chicago White Sox when the foul ball came flying into the dugout. While everyone else ducked for cover, Batman, as Javier should now be known as, just snagged it with two hands and then handed the ball to a fan sitting in the front row. He was so cool and smooth and the best reaction was no doubt from Ohtani’s interpreter, who no doubt realized the significance of the catch as it might very well have saved his life, depending on where it hit him.

Even Ohtani seemed to appreciate it as it appeared he went over to thank him. If that were me, I wouldn’t have been so nonchalant — I would have been high-fiving everyone and put that ball in my back pocket to give to my kids.

I’ve watched the catch almost a dozen times and so did my wife who is not a huge baseball fan but who can more than appreciate the moment. As one would expect, the internet had something to say too:

@giljacome74: He just caught a rocket bare handed

@chrishendel: Whoa.  Didn’t even flinch.

@ultramet: Well if the Dodgers win it all, that kid deserves a ring.

@MoreAboutMario: Ninjas walk among us.

@anmolbajwa: The casual head nod after that insane snag is what makes this legendary

@aaronknights12: Give him a raise?  I’d put him on third base!

@matthewadrury: Not a bat boy, that’s a bat man.

@terrys_eye: I need to move on or I will be stuck on this video till dinner time!! ?
