I just came across one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen on a cruise ship and it’s so ridiculous in so many ways, I had to write about it. First of all, I’ve been on dozens of cruises all around the world and never seen anything remotely like what you’re about to see. Secondly, if you’re at work or near kids, then mute the volume since the language is a little salty.

Here’s the video that was posted in October:

I told you this was ridiculous but the commentary and reaction are even worse! At seven seconds in, someone says, “they need to give you a refund.” A few seconds later, someone suggests closing the door so the birds can fly in the hallway.

First of all, never leave the balcony door open when you’re not in the cabin, especially at night with the lights on. I learned this the hard way when staying in a remote hotel in Fiji, about 20 years ago. I went to dinner and left my window open and the room light on. BIG mistake. I returned to hundreds, if not thousands, of moths and insects in my room.

But back to the video: Then, someone says they’re going to shut their balcony door and leave the hallway door open so the birds can fly through the hallway and not back out to the open air? I mean … what?!

The comments on the original poster’s page echo my thoughts:

@Craig22:
A refund for whaat? They left the balcony door open. WTH! 🤦🏾‍♂️
@wvsista: I’ve been on 10 cruises and never seen anything like this!🤣
@user3185820065601: Why would they leave the balcony door open
@mscee46 Living Life: Why would you want the birds to fly into the hallway!!!
@krstljn11: Why are you letting them out in the hall?!?! I don’t understand!
@4traxguy: Company policy states that passengers are not to leave their balcony doors open. (Especially when cabin is unattended) Yet, the first comment heard in the video is, “Maybe they’ll give ya’ll a refund!” Idiocy is always someone else’s fault.
@rainesupreme_: The sign on the balcony door tells you not to leave the door open!! Now they have the room door open so they can fly all over the ship hallway. I hope they got banned for being stupid.

I almost always back the consumer, but I hope that Carnival takes action against this couple for being so irresponsible.
