Linz Austria Christmas Market Dec 2013 -003DAY 3: Linz & Salzburg, Austria
Tuesday
We woke up in Linz, Austria and after breakfast aboard our boat, we boarded one of the four tour buses headed to the city of Salzburg. It’s a scenic two-hour drive through the Austrian countryside when we returned back to the boat in time for dinner but skipped it and walked into the town of Linz (about 12 minutes) to see their Christmas market. It was filled primarily with locals but the vendors were friendly and spoke English. We ordered some food (three sausages and sauerkraut or four sausages and no sauerkraut for three euros) and hot drinks. Unfortunately, during the week, the market closes at 8pm so we didn’t have much time to spend which was a shame as our boat didn’t depart Linz until 11pm.
