I’m shocked that I’m writing about this again but even more unbelievable is that it happened on the same airline, route and day of the week. I’m not sure what’s up with American Airlines’ nonstop between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) but it isn’t good. If you recall, I wrote a story last month per Asian News International, which said: “An Indian passenger allegedly urinated on a US co-passenger mid-flight on an American Airlines (AA-292) flight to New Delhi from New York, an official said on Sunday. A 21-year-old Indian was identified as Arya Vohra who is a student in the US. He urinated on a US citizen on March 4 while he was drunk.”

When I saw the same headline in my newsfeed I figured it was the same story just being updated, but no. It’s a whole new incident that happened a few days ago.

According to the Deccan Herald, “An Indian man travelling from New York to Delhi in an American Airlines flight has been apprehended at the airport here for allegedly urinating on his co-passenger, official sources said Monday. The accused Indian passenger was stated by the airlines staff to be under the influence of liquor and he urinated on his co-passenger during an argument, they said. The incident took place on board American Airlines flight AA 292 and the alleged “unruly” passenger was apprehended by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) after the plane landed at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport around 9 PM on Sunday.”

What’s even more bizarre is that the Deccan Herald is reporting that something similar happened on December 6, 2022 when a passenger on an Air India Paris to New Delhi flight relieved himself on a vacant seat and blanket of a fellow female passenger when she went to the lavatory.

I’m not sure what’s going on but it’s strange to be sure. One thing is certain: If I ever head back to New Delhi, I won’t piss my seatmate off. Pun intended.
