If you’re a Disney loyalist and regularly visit their theme parks or purchase Disney vacation packages, aspiring to get a Disney credit card can be a fruitful next step. It’s possible to earn Disney Rewards Dollars on purchases and enjoy special Disney perks and discounts. However, you’re probably wondering what credit score is needed for a Disney credit card.
The information for the Disney® Premier Visa® Card has been collected independently by Johnny Jet. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
Disney Credit Card Credit Score
Chase Bank issues both co-brand Disney credit cards and doesn’t disclose the credit score requirements for either card. However, like many of the best travel credit cards, you will need a good or excellent credit score from 670 to 850 in most situations.
One can expect to need a clean and more solid credit history for the Disney® Premier Visa® Card which offers more benefits than the Disney® Visa® Credit Card that doesn’t charge an annual fee. Some users also speculate that the $49-a-year Disney Premier credit card is one of the more difficult Chase credit cards to get.
The bank only discloses these basic requirements, “To be eligible for a Disney Visa Credit Card you must have a valid permanent home address within the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands, or have a United States military address. Accounts subject to credit approval. Restrictions and limitations apply.”
Don’t Forget About the Chase 5/24 Rule
Along with having good credit, you must also remain below the Chase 5/24 threshold. In short, your application will most likely be declined when you have added five or more credit cards to your credit history report over the past 24 months. Most credit cards you open as a primary or authorized user count against the five-card limit.

The Disney® Premier Visa® Card or Disney® Visa® Credit Card will either be a Visa Signature or Visa Platinum product and depends on your creditworthiness. Signature cardholders will have a minimum $5,000 initial spending limit. Platinum cardholders get at least $500.
These are the minimum credit limits for all Visa Signature and Platinum products, regardless of who issues your unsecured credit card. If approved, the bank will decide which card type you qualify for.
Additionally, the bank may automatically increase your credit limit after six to 12 months on consecutive on-time payments. Issuer-initiated limit increases don’t hurt your credit score. Additionally, they should help as your credit utilization ratio decreases.
However, this process isn’t a guarantee. Chase routinely asks for cardholders to update their annual income. An annual income increase can make it more likely. For example, SunriseEarth was able to apply an instant $4,000 credit line increase to one of their Chase credit cards after updating their income.
Still, Chase also takes the credit limits of your existing Chase-issued credit cards into consideration to avoid overextending.
Applying for a Disney Credit Card
Referring to data points from successful and unsuccessful applications can help estimate your Disney credit card approval odds. Below are several to help you decide if now is a good time to apply.
ScarlettHusky has an intriguing story that took several weeks and phone calls to the Chase reconsideration line to get approved for a $2,000 spending limit. At the time of application in June 2023, the applicant had a 689 credit score. More importantly, they had a former Chase credit card charge-off which stopped appearing on the credit report a year before applying. It potentially remained in Chase’s internal banking history and flagged further review.
Catherine412 was approved for a $6,600 credit limit for the Disney Premier Visa but didn’t disclose their current credit score. For reference, existing cards in their wallet include the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card and Discover It, which require good or excellent credit.
Poogsley doesn’t disclose if they applied for a Disney credit card but was hesitant due to thin credit. Their oldest credit card was less than one year old. Other panelists recommend applying for a Chase credit card after having 12 months of credit card history on an existing account.
