According to FrontierMEDEX Security Services Air Finland unexpectedly filed for bankruptcy and canceled all of its flights as of June 26, 2012. The airline flew to Greece, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, and U.A.E. The suspension of flights has left approximately 1,000 passengers stranded abroad. The airline has indicated that high fuel prices, as well as low ticket sales, caused the bankruptcy.
