Ever wondered what the number on the end of runways mean? Even if you haven’t, this one-minute video from Atlas Obscura is worth watching. With some great visual accompaniment, the explanation reveals that the number on a runway correlates with the runway’s angle relative to magnetic north. And in fact, that means that the number can sometimes change!
