Ticket counterPreCheck Doublecheck
Following up yesterday’s, here’s another TSA PreCheck tip: If you have TSA PreCheck and are flying an airline that you rarely fly, and you find that the TSA PreCheck checkmark isn’t showing up on your ticket—maybe you “think” you input it correctly or called an agent and they did it for you (both happened to me in the past month)—then I highly recommend going to a check-in agent at the airport and asking them to doublecheck that the information was properly input. If not, they can reprint your boarding pass for you so that it shows that you have TSA PreCheck.

After I printed my boarding pass at home and didn’t see the TSA PreCheck logo on both my Virgin America and Air Canada tickets last month, I went to both ticket counters to find out if my Trusted Traveler # had been registered. Turns out it hadn’t, even though for one of those flights, I had called a booking agent (I manually entered the other one). Same thing happened to my wife as well.

Because I went to the counter at the airport, I ended up getting the information input correctly and so didn’t have to take my shoes off. Now it’s in my record properly for good.

    How do you go about getting a reimbursement from American Express Platinum Card? when purchasing application for Global entry?

      Just charge the fee with your card and they will automatically reimburse. The same way they do the food from your designated airline.

    Recently flew from SAN to CLT, outbound flight no problem with TSA PreCheck on my ticket….However return trip, not so good. I saw that the TSA PreCheck was not on boarding pass, I went back to the agent and she verified that yes, my information was on my reservation but…”The TSA Pre-Check is RANDOM and is not guaranteed to print on your boarding pass”. While standing in the very long security line, I called Delta’s Customer Service and they told me the same thing. Needless to say, I was a bit peeved…what purpose is my Global Entry???? Oh and while I was waiting, the TSA agents were passing through families with four or more through the TSA Pre-Check line. Don’t fly Delta often enough to know if this is their normal practice…definitely not a happy camper waiting in the long security line.
