Here’s a travel moment that’s sure to bring a smile to your face and maybe even a few happy tears.
On a Southwest Airlines flight earlier today, a little boy who had to miss his kindergarten graduation got a surprise celebration courtesy of the flight attendants. Somewhere over 32,000 feet, the crew made an announcement over the intercom recognizing the young traveler for completing kindergarten. Passengers cheered and the little boy was honored in the air, a graduation ceremony he’ll probably remember for a lifetime. See the video embedded below:

The touching moment was caught on video and is quickly making the rounds on social media where viewers are praising the crew for their kindness and creativity.
As a parent myself, this moment really hit home. My own daughter just finished kindergarten this week. Her school didn’t hold a traditional graduation (I didn’t know that was a thing) but they did something special: all the older grades lined the field as the kindergarteners ran a few laps to the sound of cheers and applause. It was a sweet way to recognize a big milestone in these little kids’ lives.
In the case of this Southwest flight, the flight crew nailed it, turning what could have been a disappointing day into a joyful one, not just for the boy and his family but for everyone on board.

This isn’t the first time airline crews have stepped in to celebrate a missed milestone. Last year, a video (embedded below) of a Frontier Airlines crew throwing a similar in-flight graduation went viral.
