Skimboarder Adrien Raza’s bio reads: “A four time European champion skimboarder. Based in the Netherlands and traveling the world to create unique content.” This is exactly what it looks like from his social media feeds. Adrien travels the world and posts videos of himself attempting to skim any body of water that’s feasible.

His latest video (embedded below) was shared with the caption: “I think ill just take the bridge next time…” It takes place in Utrecht, which is the fourth-largest city of the Netherlands and also the capital and the most populous city of the province of Utrecht. FYI: The Kingdom of the Netherlands is divided into twelve provinces.

If you watch the 26-second video, you will see Adrien came up short the first time and a couple of other times but he eventually makes it across. I wasn’t sure of the town but many followers, including @seidaris_inst pointed out it’s “Utrecht. Everyone knows this spot 😂👏” I think it’s the Vecht river, which flows through the city but either way, there’s no way I would be swimming in it. As another follower commented: “Idk if I’d touch that water.”

Other comments across his feeds were mostly positive:

@R.S.R.S.: this would be good for a James bond movie…escape from the bad guys
@STAGEFIVEWRAPS: Why do I feel like redbull should have sponsored this 😂
@Squidslippers: that was insane??? Incredible
@TikyTok: Good clean fun! Love it! 🫡🥳

The only social network to put a warning ahead of this video was TikTok, which stated: “The actions in this video are performed by professionals or supervised by professionals. Do not attempt.”

As a father, I can appreciate this and I also have no issues with this guy skimming across the canal. He’s having fun and doesn’t look like he’s disturbing anyone or getting any bystanders wet.

Unfortunately, with the quest to gain more likes on social, I’m afraid we’re going to be seeing a lot more of these stunts take place in touristy spots around the world. Hopefully, they will be like Adrien’s and not get too extreme.
