If you’ve ever driven in Southern California, you’ve definitely seen some wild behavior. However, California is not nearly as bad as most states, especially Florida. In my humble opinion, the worst drivers are in South Florida, on the Atlantic side to be precise.
This wild video, embedded below, was captured on a San Diego freeway and is now being investigated by the California Highway Patrol. As you will see, the footage shows the driver of a Subaru driving up the freeways embankment before veering across all lanes of freeway traffic before crashing into an SUV where both vehicles went into the center divider and the Subaru overturned.

According to ABC News: “Three people were hospitalized after the crash. DUI is not suspected in the crash.” If this incident is not a suspected DUI, it’s possible the driver of the car was a minor, an elderly person or someone experiencing a medical emergency. Whatever the circumstances, I hope everyone is okay and that the driver was indeed having a medical emergency instead of just driving recklessly. If it was the latter, there’s no excuse for putting so many people in danger and they should go to prison for a long time. Others on social media agree:
@kellypatterson4412: Medical emergency or just plain stupidity?
@wikkedgoddess1: I’ve seen something like that twice before. Once, the driver was having a heart attack, the other, the driver had a Seizure. I hope no one was seriously injured.
@karennielsen4545: My husband had a stroke when he was driving
@streetlegalsprintcar: I’m still calling DUI until they say it was either a low I.Q. related crash or medical emergency.
Here’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen on a California freeway (and that’s saying something) and then there was this bizarre scene where severe storms and high winds turned this California drive into a video game adventure.
If you notice a swerving vehicle on the roads or a driver acting erratically, here’s what you can do to keep yourself safe:
1. First and foremost, move away. Change lanes or slow down to let the swerving car pass you and maintain a safe distance from the erratic vehicle.
2. Also be sure to maintain a safe distance from all other vehicles on the road just in case you or they need to brake suddenly. You want to make sure you can both do so without hitting any other cars.
3. Drive defensively and always be aware of your surroundings at all time.
4. Slow down. If you’re speeding, you may not have enough time to react to a dangerous situation around you. This is especially important if you’re driving at night or during bad weather conditions.
5. Avoid slamming on your brakes, which can cause a chain reaction of cars colliding. Instead, maintain a safe and steady speed and brake slowly so you don’t lose control of your car.
