A big thanks to Quince for providing review products for this story so that I could write about and share my experience.

If you’ve scrolled through social media lately, chances are you’ve seen ads for Quince. This relatively new brand has been making waves with its promise of high-quality products at affordable prices. But given the skepticism that often accompanies online ads, it’s natural to wonder if the San Francisco-based brand lives up to the hype. Instagram and Facebook both served Quince ads up to me so frequently, they were impossible to ignore. But I’ve grown wary of brands I don’t know on social media and tend to a do a deep dive before purchasing anything online. I had to find out: Is Quince legit?

I finally gave in to my curiosity and now, working with the company’s press team and having tried some of their products myself, I can confidently say that Quince is a brand worth your attention, especially for travel enthusiasts.

Quince was founded in 2018 by Sid Gupta, a former Wall Street investment banker, and the company has a straightforward yet ambitious mission: to democratize luxury. By selling directly to consumers online, Quince avoids the hefty mark-ups typically associated with premium goods. By cutting out the middleman, Quince is able to offer products that are comparable in quality to high-end brands but at a fraction of the cost. Their supply chain strategy focuses on sustainability and ethical manufacturing practices, in an effort to deliver premium products without the premium price tag or the guilt.

In an interview with Forbes, Gupta said: “My wife and I, we don’t have too many splurges. But one of them is when we travel, we love to stay at really nice hotels.”

According to the article, Gupta and his wife “woke up one morning in a fancy hotel and thought to themselves, “‘Why is it the five nights a year we spend in a really nice hotel, we have better sheets and better towels than the 360 nights at home?’”

“At home, we have these towels from, pick-your-internet-based-low-end-brand. We have sheets we still have from business school. And we’ve been fortunate, but we don’t want to want to spend $50 on a towel or $400 on sheets.

“At this point, I have a retail and supply chain background and my wife has a technology background, so we basically came up with the idea to take our expertise and apply it to the supply chain and make nice things available to everyone for a lot less. And that is really the purpose and stays true today, says Gupta.”

Product range
Quince offers a wide range of products, from fashion and home goods to travel essentials. Their catalog includes everything from luxurious silk sheets and cashmere sweaters to durable and stylish luggage and accessories.

Travel essentials
For travelers, Quince’s range of travel products is solid. Here are a few standout items that should be on your radar:

Quince hard shell suitcases.
Hard shell suitcase
Quince’s hard shell suitcases will give any other luxury brand’s suitcases a run for their money. Ranging in price from $130 to $220, the suitcases look good and boast most of the same feature of suitcases that cost double (or more) the price.

Packing cubes from Quince.
Packing cubes
Quince’s packing cubes are an essential for organized travelers. Comparable to the Monos packing cubes in design and durability, these cubes help keep your suitcase neat and organized. The best part? They cost less than half the price of their high-end counterparts without compromising on quality. In fact, laid side by side, I couldn’t tell the difference between the Monos packing cubes and the ones from Quince.

Quince travel bags
Travel bags
Quince’s travel bags, including their versatile duffels and sleek backpacks, are designed with both style and functionality in mind. Made from high-quality materials, their bags are perfect for both short getaways and long-haul trips. For little ones, their backpacks and lunch boxes are great for both travel days and school days and I was extremely impressed with both the quality and the style of the bags.

Silk pillowcases and eye masks from Quince.
Silk pillowcases and sleep masks
Traveling can take a toll on your skin and hair, but Quince’s silk pillowcases and sleep masks offer a touch of luxury that can make a significant difference. These products are not only soft and gentle on your skin but also help ensure a good night’s sleep, whether you’re on a plane or in a hotel.

Quince toiletry bags

Spacious and well-constructed, the Quince toiletry bags provide ample room for all your travel-sized toiletries, making packing and unpacking a breeze.

100% organic cotton smocked midi dress from Quince.
Dresses
As I was packing for my summer vacation this year, I threw in a few Quince dresses and they ended up being the ones I wore most frequently for the seven weeks we were traveling. They were beautifully made and I received compliments every time I wore them. My favorite dress by far is the 100% organic cotton smocked midi dress. Not only is it beautiful but at $69.90, it’s a fraction of the cost of the original nap dress that experienced an explosion in popularity during the pandemic due to its ‘comfy enough to nap in but chic enough to step out in’ style.

Ethical manufacturing
Quince is also committed to ethical manufacturing practices. They work closely with their suppliers to ensure fair labor practices and sustainable production methods. This commitment extends to their choice of materials, with many products made from eco-friendly and sustainably sourced components.

Quality and affordability
Overall, one of the most compelling reasons to consider Quince is the quality of their products relative to their price. Having personally tested several items, I was pleasantly surprised by how well-made everything was. The packing cubes, for instance, are robust and durable, with strong zippers and high-quality fabric. These cubes have held up exceptionally well, even after multiple trips, proving that you don’t need to spend a fortune to get reliable travel gear. The clothing is beautifully made and the hard shell luggage is one of the best deals in town.

So, the next time you see an ad pop up on your social media feed and find yourself wondering if Quince is legit, don’t hesitate to take a moment to explore what they have to offer. You might just find exactly what you’re looking for at a price that’s hard to beat.

Love Quince. Not only are their products great, but so is their customer service, I bought several linen dresses for a trip to SE Asia. Since I am fuller on top, I needed to exchange sizes. Easy-peasy and shipping and returning are free! Great quality, too, Just got the small international size carry on during a special sale, and though I have not used it yet, it appears to be high quality. That neoprene duffel tote you have pictured is apparently a dupe of a more expensive Dagne Dover one. Have a leather jacket on my wish list now, along with several other items.

One more thing for miles and points enthusiasts- often there are Chase offers and sometimes Amex offers for Quince.
