According to a CBP press release, “U.S Border Patrol from the Buffalo Sector using border-security-technology spotted two people attempting to enter the United States on the International Railroad Bridge in Buffalo. CBP officers and Border Patrol agents then immediately apprehended 37-year-old Raffaele Gambino and 60-year-old Calogero Anceschi.”

Buffalo Port Director Gaetano Cordone said, “This case is an excellent example of our outstanding relationship with our CBP colleagues at U.S. Border Patrol. Having the ability to quickly communicate this information between U.S. Border Patrol Agents and CBP officers led to the successful apprehension of these two individuals who attempted to enter our country illegally.”

In a video obtained by WIVB News 4 from the CBP shows the two men jogging across the bridge. Instead, they were apprehended and are “currently pending removal from the United States.”

It’s not clear what time this took place or when and how they will return to Italy or who will pay for their trip back but they’re lucky a train wasn’t operating because they would have undoubtedly been hit. This might have worked in the old days but thanks to technology, it’s very difficult to sneak across the border – especially the Northern border.

I’ve driven across the Canada-U.S. border many times and there are never any problems if you do it legally. This past summer, we used the bridge next door to the International Railroad Bridge, which links linking Buffalo, N.Y. to Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. Here’s my trip report.

So, over 15 million illegals cross from the prisons and insane asylums of Guatemala, Venezuela and other countries and the one story you choose to report on is two Italian men cross illegally and you’re in shock? Geez Johnny. Way to go with your in depth analysis.
