A truly perfect travel ensemble is a rare find. It has to be soft and comfy, of course. It has to be warm, especially if the plane is cold, but not too warm that you’re overheating. The top should be a great layering piece so you can regulate your temperature as needed. Ideally, it’s on-trend, but definitely not like you’re trying too hard. If you’re like me, you’re looking for something with a classic profile that looks and feels great and checks all of the boxes above. Spanx sells just such an outfit that has become a fan favorite for many a female traveler. The Spanx AirEssentials Collection is specifically designed to ‘elevate your travel look with comfortable and flattering styles.’ The AirEssentials wide leg pant paired with the AirEssentials half-zip is a winning combo. A two-piece sweatsuit that takes sweatsuits to the next level because it’s so comfy but classy.
While waiting in line to use the bathroom at the airport in Miami recently, I turned around and spied a woman behind me wearing the Spanx AirEssentials sweatsuit. I asked her how she liked it and she was thrilled that I’d recognized it and gushed over how ideal it was for travel.
I agree – it looked great! But the price point was a sticking point. The Spanx AirEssentials wide leg pants cost $138 while the half-zip is $128. Together, the outfit will run you a cool $266 plus tax.
So, while it’s a beautiful option, it’s not a wallet-friendly one. Which is why I was thrilled to find the same look minus the hefty price tag on Amazon.
With an almost identical look, the Anrabess two-piece sweatsuit on Amazon is considerably cheaper; when on sale, the Spanx set costs almost five times more. At regular price, the Amazon set is just $69.99 for the set (pants and sweatshirt) and is currently, at the time of publication, on sale for $55.99.
Here’s what some reviewers had to say:
Air Travel must have
I bought these for an upcoming short flight to San Francisco in February. This is very similar to a Spanx set I own but a fraction of the cost. I travel often and comfort in the airport, on the flight and being able to wear on arrival are super important for me.
Pros:
Nice dark black (washes well)
Comfortable
On trend styling (large collar, oversize look)
Nice mid weight (not light weight)
Cons:
No pockets
Pants are a bit long (I just pulled up higher).
I ordered a medium, I’m 5’5″, 155lbs (apple shape). I originally ordered a size large but it was quite baggy on me. But if you want oversized that might work for you (I prefer the more fitted look). For the price this is a great purchase.
Soft, weighty, and nicely fits
This is a great comfortable casual wear. It feels like butter, but the fabric has a nice thickness- soft inside too. Well made and looks quite flattering. The size was perfect.
Cozy affordable comfort!
I recently purchased this 2-piece set and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase! The set consists a convenient 3/4 zip top and comfortable bottoms featuring an elastic waist and a drawstring. I must admit the drawstring is more decorative than functional. The wide leg of the pants is just right—not overly exaggerated but wide enough to provide a stylish and relaxed look.
One of the amazing features is the softness of the fabric. I’ve washed this set three times already, and it still looks and feels as great as it did when I first got it. The color hasn’t faded, and there’s been no pilling or loss of softness.
Being 5’4″ and 142 pounds, I opted for a medium, and it fits me perfectly. The only minor issue I encountered was that the pants were a tad long for my liking. However, a quick fix with hem tape resolved the problem, and now they’re just right. I initially purchased the navy blue set and was so impressed that I bought the apricot color a week later. I’m pleased to report that both colors are true to what’s shown online.
The Anrabess two-piece sweatsuit on Amazon also comes in 19 beautiful colors, from classic neutrals and pretty pastels to punchy, vibrant shades of cherry and Kelly green. Check out all the options here.

Posts like this disgust me; recommending a business that is just a knock-off a company that spends a lot of time, money, and heart into developing a product. Amazon then allows chinese knock-offs on their site who put nothing into the product but copies.
What chemicals are the chinese companies using to make the product that you are wearing on your body? Zero labor standards…etc.
Any you, for the sake of a blog post, recommend it.
By the way, from Amazon’s website, here’s the address of the company selling the product you recommend obtained from Amazon’s website:

Hey Scott,
Great point. I never thought about this and will tell my wife (she wrote the post after reading about it in a popular women’s magazine)
You might want to update your post on the sweatsuit from Amazon. There are a huge number of comments about how short the pants are. This set may be great if you are not very tall, but I am 5’7″ and this was WAY too short so I had to return them. I should have looked at the other reviews first.
