The Wells Fargo Propel American Express Card (Not currently open to new applicants)
The information related to Wells Fargo Propel American Express® Card has been collected by Johnny Jet and has not been reviewed or provided by the issuer or provider of this product or service.
The no annual fee Wells Fargo Propel American Express® Card earns 3x on popular streaming services. Cardholders earn 3x points automatically when making an eligible purchase on their card. This is a regular benefit of the Propel card, therefore earning 3x points doesn’t expire by a certain date.
You can keep your rewards from popular streaming services and a few other bonus categories. Plus, there isn’t a foreign transaction fee for when you travel abroad.

How to Get 3x Points on Popular Streaming Services
According to Wells Fargo, the Wells Fargo Propel American Express® Card offers 3x points on the following popular streaming services:
- Apple Music®, Apple News+, and Apple TV+
- Amazon Music Unlimited
- Audible
- ESPN+
- Disney+
- fuboTV
- HBO Now
- Headspace, Inc.
- Hulu
- Kindle Unlimited
- Netflix
- NHL.TV
- Pandora®
- Prime Video
- Sirius XM Radio Inc.
- Spotify Premium
Each of these services costs approximately $10 a month, but you might pay between $14 and $20 to stream on multiple devices or access Ultra HD content. If you ditch your cable TV subscription, you can switch to the Hulu with Live TV plan, for instance, and earn triple points on the monthly charge!
Additional Ways You Can Earn 3x Bonus Points
Let’s face it, earning 3x bonus points on popular streaming services probably isn’t enough incentive to switch your spending to a new credit card. Streaming may be part of your daily routine, but it’s probably not one of your largest monthly spending categories.
In addition to being one of the best credit cards for streaming services, the Wells Fargo Propel also earns 3x points for these purchases too:
It’s possible to earn bonus points every day you use the Propel for your daily routine and when you travel. Being able to earn 3x rewards points on virtually any travel or dining purchase offers a higher payout than many flexible travel rewards cards that charge an annual fee.
It doesn’t matter which airline you fly or hotel you stay at, you earn 3 points for every $1 spent.
In addition to offering 3x bonus points on multiple categories, the Wells Fargo Propel American Express® Card never charges an annual fee.

Redeeming Your Wells Fargo Points
All the rewards points you earn with the Wells Fargo Propel are Go Far Rewards points. They can be redeemed for the following redemptions:
- Travel
- Cash statement credit
- Gift cards
Your points are worth 1 cent each, but they can be worth 1.5 cents each when you redeem them for air travel. For example, the same 10,000 points with your Propel Card can purchase a $150 flight compared to another credit card that might only purchase a $100 flight with the same balance.
Wells Fargo also gives the option of paying with points and cash for your award travel, in case you want to save a few points for your next flight.
If you spend at least $50,000 annually on card purchases, your points can be worth 1.75 cents for award flights.
When you prefer cash rewards, you can request credit online or by phone. Another option is to withdraw cash from a Wells Fargo ATM for when you need cash on the spot.
As always, your points never expire as long as you own the Wells Fargo Propel American Express® Card.
Additional Wells Fargo Propel American Express® Card Benefits
Even though the 3x bonus points on popular streaming services, dining, and traveling are the main reason to consider the Propel, you can also enjoy the following additional card benefits. You will find a selection of purchase and travel protection benefits that can save you money when life decides to throw a curveball.
Oh, and the Propel is also a Wells Fargo metal credit card. So, on top of being one of the best credit cards for streaming services, you can also enjoy the following benefits.
Cell Phone Protection
When you pay your monthly cell phone bill with the Propel, you get up to $600 protection. Not only do you earn bonus points on your popular streaming service plans, but Wells Fargo can also help replace your streaming device if it’s damaged or stolen. All you need to pay is a $25 deductible. Your cell phone bill will also earn 1 point per $1 spent each month too.
It’s worth mentioning that the Chase Freedom Flex℠ also comes with cell phone protection. This World Elite Mastercard comes with up to $1,000 per year of cell phone protection. First, you will need to pay your monthly cell phone bill with the Chase Freedom Flex. Then, you’ll get up to $1,000 in yearly coverage benefits. Mastercard lets you make up to two claims per year ($800 max per claim) if your phone is stolen or needs certain repairs. There is a $50 deductible per claim.
Retail Protection
If you buy something and it’s damaged or stolen with the first 90 days, you can be reimbursed for the entire purchase amount.
Extended Warranty Protection
You can also double the manufacturer’s original warranty when it’s one year or shorter.
Travel Protection Benefits
The Wells Fargo Propel American Express® Card also offers these additional travel protection benefits that offer peace of mind too:
- Lost luggage reimbursement
- Secondary auto rental collision damage waiver protection
- Roadside assistance
- 24/7 travel and emergency assistance
- Emergency cash advances
These benefits can save you hundreds of dollars when you encounter unexpected expenses.
Summary
Having one of the best credit cards for streaming services can help you maximize your purchases. As you can see, some cards earn more rewards while others come with credits that can help offset any fees.
