How to Earn United Miles on Charitable Donations

From October 16 to November 30, 2023, United MileagePlus members with a co-branded credit card can donate to eligible food banks and earn as much as 12,500 bonus United miles as a token of appreciation. This promotion also happens to start on World Food Day.

The first $500 in donations earn 5x miles per $1 for a total of 2,500 miles. Next, the remaining $1,000 that you donate earns 10x miles per $1 for a cumulative reward of 12,500 miles when you donate the maximum amount.

Eligible non-profit organizations include:

  • Capital Area Food Bank (Washington, D.C. metro area)
  • Community Food Bank of New Jersey
  • Feeding America
  • Hawaii Food Bank
  • Houston Food Bank
  • Second Harvest of Silicon Valley

It’s possible to help organizations nearby if you live in the service area of the above regional food banks. Your donations can also help feed those living in your favorite destination.
