If you thought irate passengers were only a U.S. phenomenon, think again—though they do seem to occur more frequently here. Today, on St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland, a video (embedded below) surfaced showing a shirtless, intoxicated man going berserk at Dublin Airport, near gate 107 in Terminal 1. Reports suggest he was upset about missing his flight.

Breaking Aviation News & Videos first reported on the incident with the caption: “A man in his 20s has been arrested after he caused significant damage to a section of Dublin Airport after he missed his flight.
Footage shared on social media shows the man, who is topless but with a partially covered face, breaking and smashing structures around one of the departure gates in Terminal 1.
In a statement, daa said the passenger arrived at the airport intoxicated and after he missed his flight proceeded to cause “significant damage”.
It said the individual was “quickly apprehended by Airport Police before being arrested by gardaí.”
It’s unfortunate that this entitled, spoiled, or simply inebriated man has now created a serious mess for himself. Instead of just rolling with the punches, he chose to throw them, and that’s likely to land him in jail along with some hefty fines for damages to the airport.
I’m just relieved there weren’t any kids in the video—they definitely didn’t need to witness this fool’s antics. I’m also curious as to why it took airport security so long to reach him. It reminded me of a similar incident in Miami.
