@airlivenet is run by AirLive.net, a Wiki Air News Agency. These guys/gals do an amazing job of monitoring all the aviation news—especially breaking news—and keeping their followers up to date with strike info. They have close to 100,000 followers, which is a testament to the amazing job they’re doing.
They also monitor air traffic control so don’t get freaked out when you start seeing tweets about flights declaring an emergency (it happens every day) because there are tens of thousands of flights taking place every day and something is bound to go wrong. The majority of the time an emergency declaration is just a precaution or a sick passenger on the plane, in which case the flight needs to make a medical stop.
