Rental houseRental Houses
The best way to save money when traveling with multiple people is to rent a house. This is usually a lot cheaper than a hotel—plus you can live like a local, cook, get free Wi-Fi and parking, and residences are usually tucked away from all the tourists and the high prices. Here are three of the most popular rental sites:

1. Airbnb.com
2. HomeAway.com
3. VRBO.com

Apartment rental isn’t just for “multiples;” it’s great for singles as well. I took vacay in August in Montreal & Toronto, and rented apartments in both places. They were in nice buildings, included pools, breakfasts, doormen, full kitchens, laundry access….and they were less expensive than hotels. This time I used http://www.airbnb.com, but I’ve also used VRBO, Tripadvisor, Homeaway. It’s a fantastic way to travel, getting all the amenities you’d have in a hotel, at much less the cost.

Bronte & Frank used VRBO to find the perfect rental for NYE 2012 on the island of Boracay in the Phils – most fab new year to date!

I am been renting houses and condo’s for our vacations for years and have used airbnd, homeaway and vrbo. VRBO was the first site that I used in the 1990’s and only once was I disappointed with the house we rented. My husband uses airbnd for business travel when he is in the same city for several days because he prefers to not have to eat out. We have rented homes in Duck, NC, Myrtle Beach, SC, Folly Beach, SC, Orlando, FL, Gulf Shores, AL, Maine, NH, Virgina, San Francisco, Pennsylvania to name of few of places…! :-)

We rent a lovely apartment in Paris every year. Over there it is not easy to SEE THE PLACE before rental (“sight unseen”) but this man let my husband visit his place. As my husband said, “Once my wife sees this, she will never leave.” True, True. We’ve been renting for a number of years. It is super modern, white and black with a huge terrace and “car wash shower” with jets all over the wall.
