I’ve been working with TESSAN over the last year, which means that I’ve been able to test a number of their products … and quite a few have ended up in my carry-on bag. I travel with the 5-in-1 portable charger, which is a must-have these days, one of their international travel adapters and now their latest gadget, the TESSAN Magic 65W Charging Station with Wireless Charging. This compact 6-in-1 charging station keeps your tech powered without the cable clutter, combining a magnetic wireless phone charger, a retractable Apple Watch charger, two USB-C ports and two AC outlets in one sleek hub. Its 65W USB-C fast charging can even power a MacBook, while the ultra-thin flat plug fits neatly behind furniture, making it especially handy for nightstands, desks and travel.
What I love about it is that it solves a couple of problems I’ve had while traveling.
First, I don’t have to remember to bring my Apple Watch charger because there’s one built right into the unit. It pulls out when you need it and tucks back in when you don’t. Anyone who travels with an Apple Watch knows that’s one less easy-to-forget cable to worry about.
Second, if I forget or lose my iPhone charging cord on the plane, and unfortunately I’m speaking from experience, I can still charge my phone. Just place a compatible iPhone on the magnetic charging stand and you’re good to go.
The stand can be tilted up to 65 degrees, which is nice if you’re using it on a hotel nightstand or desk and want to see your phone while it’s charging. It delivers up to 7.5W wireless charging for compatible iPhones and up to 15W for other Qi-compatible phones.
But this thing does a lot more than charge an iPhone and Apple Watch. There are two USB-C ports, including one that can deliver up to 65W when used by itself, so you can charge compatible laptops, iPads and other devices. There are also two regular AC outlets.
That makes it especially useful when traveling with my family because we always seem to have a ridiculous number of devices that need to be charged at the end of the day: Phones, iPads, laptops, headphones and portable fans to name a few.
Another feature I appreciate is the five-foot cord. I can’t tell you how many hotel rooms I’ve stayed in where the outlet is nowhere near where you actually need it. It also has a super-thin 0.32-inch flat plug, so you can get it behind a nightstand, bed or other furniture without having a big plug sticking out from the wall.
Of course, you don’t have to be traveling to appreciate it. I’ve actually been using the Magic 65W Charging Station at home because it’s so practical. My phone can sit on the magnetic stand, my Apple Watch has its own charger and I can plug in other devices without having a bunch of cords and charging bricks everywhere.
This is one item I won’t be forgetting to pack when I travel. Buy here.
