reader-travel-tip2Wait for the Baggage Claim Bathrooms
Each Friday, we’re featuring a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from Jason C., who says:

“Everyone usually heads to the first bathroom after getting off a plane, creating long lines and congestion. Keep on heading to the baggage claim. There’s usually a restroom near baggage claim that isn’t used as often as the ones near the gates. I do this every time and find cleaner, less congested restrooms. Happy traveling!”

A great tip that I use every time. Thanks Jason!

Love this tip! I always wait until I hit the baggage claim area to relieve myself! Cleaner and less crowded. In fact there is usually no wait.

Generally a wise move. The two exceptions I know of are Newark and several JFK terminals. The baggage area rest rooms are small, overused and hard to find. But skipping the first rest room you find and using the 2nd one has the same affect as the tip!

Also if you have a checked bag, you really don’ want to leave it unattended for long It is better to be in the proximity of the baggage carousel.

Actually, a friend of mine got mugged at knifepoint at a bathroom in the airport, so I’d actually recommend to user the bathroom while you’re still in the secured area.

So true!! No lines (normally) at the baggage claim restrooms. It’s pretty awesome :)
