reader-travel-tip2Throw-Away Pens
Each Friday, we’re featuring a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip builds on Monday’s tip and comes from reader Kathy W., who says:

“First of all, 99% of women who carry a purse normally have at least one pen. However, a better idea for the customs forms would be to bring a few ‘throw-away’ pens such as the ones you get from businesses that you don’t mind lending out and not getting back.”

Thanks, Kathy!

I always bring red Bic pens to give away to vendors I don’t buy from, especially in 3rd world countries and to give to kids along with stickers.

The throw-away idea is only good until the cheap thing explodes on the plane, ruining your shirt/purse/whatever. Always make sure your pen is labeled “airplane safe”.
