There’s a video of a passenger working out in her seat that’s going viral (embedded below). It looks like she’s flying first class on a 757 in United Airlines Polaris.
At first, I thought it was first class on American Airlines on one of their A321T aircraft or something equivalent. The “T” by the way stands for Transcontinental because it is primarily used on premium transcontinental routes including between New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO) and Orange County (SNA). As well as LAX to Boston (BOS).

I’ve been fortunate to fly this aircraft in all classes dozens of times between LAX and JFK including just last month in First Class (I got upgraded) and I love it. Unfortunately, the seats are starting to get ratty since American Airlines (AA) is doing away with this configuration so they’re not maintaining it properly.
But still, the A321T features a three-class cabin configuration with 10 fully lie-flat suites in Flagship First in a 1-1 configuration. There are 20 fully lie-flat seats in Flagship Business with a 2-2 configuration and Economy has 72 seats, half of which have four inches of extra legroom in Main Cabin Extra with 35 total inches of pitch (the distance between a point on one seat and the same point on the seat in front).
Flagship First has 62 inches of pitch so there’s not much room to do standing exercises. However, it is in United’s Polaris since their seats have a whopping 75 inches of pitch. I flew United’s Polaris in 2022 on a 777 between L.A. and Honolulu and loved it. See photo above.
But back to the video: This woman’s behavior is definitely unusual, especially if she wasn’t related to her seatmate (seats on the 757 are in a 2-2 configuration) and if she did it for a long period of time; the caption claims “this lady has been working out the entire flight 😂”. What’s surprising (and kind of awesome?) is that most passengers and flight attendants that commented have no problem with it:
@romanouqe: As a flight attendant I highly recommend everyone to move their body during long destinations by at least doing some leg exercises while sitting or simply walking up the aisle, your vessels and blood needs to circulate otherwise you might end up with a DVT and that’s not fun at all, kudos to that lady!
@pamwiz: She paid for the space – let her do her thing.
@nathalie.laqueen: Promoting circulation. Carry on queen.🙌🏽
@jakademik_md: She probably got a DVT before and said never again lol
@t_a_l_i_k_a: This isn’t funny. This is cool. Health first always. 🙌
@_kimberlybulgin: I’m loving the vibe of this thread. We stand with a woman who unapologetically moves her body. ✊🏾

Slow posting day ? I’d grant I wouldn’t want to be her seatmate and it is distracting, but what’s the big deal ? One could sleep, read, state out the window and play nice ! Last time I checked, Air Koryo didn’t have flights here in the good ole *free* USA !
