Japan Travel 2012

Here are the stories from my recent trip to Japan. Click on the titles to read more:

Arriving in Tokyo, Japan

If you haven’t been to Tokyo’s Narita Airport you aren’t missing much. It’s surprisingly unattractive in an old building with low ceilings.

Mandarin Oriental Tokyo

I was invited to check out the 173-room Mandarin Oriental Tokyo that opened in December 2005. It was billed as the first official six-star hotel in the world and believe it or not I almost passed on the invitation since their lobby is on the 38th floor and after Japan’s 9.0 earthquake, I didn’t know if I would be able to stop worrying (a trait I got from my mother) to sleep.

Maid Café in Tokyo, Japan

Hiroshi, my Japanese friend from college took me and Facebook sensation Hitomi Kumasaka to dinner to a Korean BBQ (you grill your own meat). Afterward, we walked a couple of blocks in the snow to a bizarre place called Maid Café

Tokyo, Japan Resources for Your Next Trip

Did you know Tokyo, Japan is the largest city in the world with a population of 32,450,000?

Tokyo is an international city and they have every type of cuisine here. The World Cup soccer games in Japan resulted in changes to most language signs so they are now in both Japanese and English.
