The Instacart Mastercard Review

If you aren’t familiar with Instacart, it is a company that works with retailers and grocers to provide a convenient shopping experience for consumers. Consumers can use the Instacart app to do their online grocery and retail shopping. Once users have made their selections, Instacart shoppers then go through the stores to do the shopping.

If a product is unavailable, the shoppers can send you a text asking if you would like a replacement item. Users can then have their shopping delivered or can opt to pick it up from the retailer at a selected time. Over 70,000 stores across North America are participating in this service.

As mentioned above, the Instacart Mastercard® is a no-annual-fee card. This card also earns up to 5% cash back on select purchases, with no limit on how much cash back is issued. Additionally, cardholders have several redemption options. Here’s what you should know in this Instacart Mastercard review.

Earning Rewards

Instacart Mastercard® cardholders can earn unlimited cash back on these purchases:

  • 5% cash back on the Instacart app and Instacart.com purchases
  • 5% cash back on travel purchased through Chase Travel℠, including flights, hotels, and more
  • 2% cash back at restaurants, gas stations, and on select streaming services
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases

These are pretty good purchase rewards considering several of the best cash back credit cards only earn 2% back on similar purchases. The ability to earn unlimited 5% cash back on both groceries and retail purchases and on travel is a nice touch.

Plus, earning unlimited 2% cash back on restaurants, gas stations, AND select streaming services means you can keep using your card to pay for everyday expenses.

This is a good option to consider if these are standard purchases for you.

Signup Bonus

New Instacart Mastercard® cardholders can get a free year of Instacart+ and a $100 Instacart credit automatically upon approval. Membership auto-renews. Terms apply.

Instacart+ benefits include unlimited free delivery on orders over $35, lower service fees, the ability to get your order within an hour, exclusive offers from Instacart partners, plus the ability to set up a family account so you can share benefits.

The standard fee for Instacart+ is $9.99 per month or $99 per year.

Redemption Options

This Instacart Mastercard review continues with your cash back redemption options. There are several ways to redeem your Instacart Mastercard rewards.

Future Instacart Orders (Coming Soon)

Cardholders can use their cash back rewards to pay for all or part of an Instacart order. They must place this order in the app or online at Instartcart.com. There is no minimum rewards balance needed to be able to redeem rewards.

Cash Back

If cardholders prefer cash back, they can choose to receive a direct deposit or a statement credit. Again, there is no minimum rewards balance needed to redeem rewards. Some cards only allow redemptions after a threshold has been met.

Travel

This may come as a surprise, but cardmembers can redeem their cash back for travel via the Chase Travel Center. Travel options include flights, hotels, cruises, and car rentals.

Additional Benefits

This Instacart Mastercard review wouldn’t be complete without a list of the additional benefits cardmembers may not know about.

  • Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver
  • Purchase Protection
  • Extended Warranty Protection
  • Baggage Delay Insurance
  • Lost Luggage Reimbursement
  • Roadside Assistance
  • Travel Accident Insurance
