Chase Slate Edge Review

The Chase Slate Edge℠ is the rebuilt Chase Slate® Card, which was removed from the Chase credit card lineup in 2020.

As mentioned above, this no-annual-fee credit card can help you manage your credit.

Card benefits include the ability to lower your interest rate by 2% each year. You will automatically be considered for an APR reduction when you pay on time and spend at least $1,000 on your card by your next account anniversary.

Additionally, you can work on raising your credit limit. Get an automatic, one-time review for a higher credit limit when you pay on time, and spend $500 in your first six months.

Signup Bonus

The Chase Slate Edge℠ lets you start off strong with 0% Intro APR for 18 months from account opening on purchases and balance transfers. A variable APR of 20.49% – 29.24% on balance transfers and purchases after the introductory period ends.

A balance transfer card can be used to pay off higher-rate cards or consolidate balances, so you pay less interest overall.

However, note that balance transfers may not be used to pay other credit cards or loans issued by Chase Bank (terms apply).

This product is available to you if you do not have this card and have not received a new card member bonus for this card in the past 24 months. The Chase 5/24 rule still applies.

Additional Benefits

Chase Slate Edge℠ cardholders can also enjoy several additional benefits available on their card. Cardholders can enjoy account alerts to help them keep track of their card. Overnight card replacement is also available should your card get lost, stolen, or damaged. There is access to an account specialist 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Additionally, Chase Slate Edge cards are contactless.

Account Protection

Cardholders can rest assured that this card comes with Real-Time fraud monitoring, which monitors card transactions for possible fraudulent activity. If fraudulent activity is discovered, cardholders won’t be held responsible.

Cardholders can also signup for fraud alerts via phone, text, or email. Additionally, the Chase Slate Edge℠ comes with chip card technology, which adds additional protection.

Travel Perks

If you require roadside assistance, you may call 1-800-847-2869 24/7. Note that roadside service fees will be provided when you call and charge to your card. Services can be anything from a jumpstart, gas delivery, a tire change, and more.

Cardholders can also take advantage of the car rental collision damage waiver. To use this perk, be sure to decline the rental car company’s collision insurance and pay the entire rental cost on your Chase Slate Edge card. Note that coverage is provided for theft and collision damage for most cars in the United States and abroad. This is considered secondary coverage to your personal insurance (in the United States).

Purchase Protection

Cardholders can also enjoy purchase protection. The Chase Slate Edge℠ covers new purchases for up to 120 days against damage or theft, up to $500 per claim and $50,000 per account. Additionally, the card can extend a U.S. manufacturer’s warranty by an additional year. However, this is only valid on eligible warranties of up to three years.

Also, the Chase Slate Edge is eligible for the My Chase Plan, which allows cardholders to split up large purchases. Cardholders can make equal monthly payments on purchases of $100 or more, with no interest, just a fixed monthly fee.

Summary

In conclusion, if you’re looking for a balance transfer card, want to build up your credit, and/or want to establish a relationship with Chase, then you might want to consider a Chase Slate Edge card.
