In the second clip (also embedded above), captioned “Foot fungus lady uses fork on cruise @carnival #carnivalcruise,” the guest uses a fork to scratch her foot. Needless to say, the video left many viewers disgusted.
As you might expect, the clips quickly went viral, with commenters expressing everything from disbelief to outright revulsion. Here are a few reactions:
@blonkat: “Before I say how I came looking for part 1, 🤦🏾♀️ let’s discuss the phone camera with the close clear view of the itchy foot 😂… dang I feel like I need to scratch my foot 🦶”
@b_easy_33: “And this is why I don’t believe in walking barefoot anywhere! Hotel room- No. Public pool- No! Hotel shower- NO!”
@rafaelfernvndez: “Now I want to start bringing my own silverware to restaurants.”
@zayethialex: “This why I eat with plastic utensils 😂”
@_ontaria: “If yall ain’t tell security so they can throw that fork away, I hope you end up eating off of it.”
According to Cruise Hive, the footage was filmed aboard the Carnival Sunrise, which sails from Miami on cruises to the Bahamas. They identified the ship based on details visible in the videos.

Carnival Cruise Line responded to the incident on Instagram with this statement (embedded above):
“Hi Carnival cruisers, we can confirm that forks are intended for food, not foot care. Once we became aware of the situation, our team quickly addressed it with the guest and removed the utensil from service. While the video may be generating laughs and gasps online, cleanliness and hygiene are no joke to us. Our crew works hard every day to maintain high standards across our feet fleet and to ensure all guests enjoy a safe, clean, and comfortable vacation. See you onboard.”
I’ll admit I’m a little skeptical about how they were able to identify and remove that specific fork, but hopefully they did.
If you know me, you know I have plenty of air travel pet peeves, and I’ve witnessed some truly disgusting behavior over the years. One passenger sitting next to me actually flossed her teeth mid-flight using… get this… her own long hair. As gross as that was, this somehow tops it. This is definitely not okay.
As many people like to say when they see something especially offensive online: “Straight to jail!”
