Being a dentist isn’t always easy. Although people know they should come for routine checkups, you might still pay large sums of money to grow your business. Let’s not forget about those other administrative expenses like continuing education and traveling to conferences.
As with some of the best Chase credit cards, these best credit cards for dentists can help you earn bonus points on the purchases you make to keep your business humming and patients happy.
1. Ink Business Preferred Credit Card
The best all-around business credit card for dentists is the Chase Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card. This is because it does a good job of offering bonus points on your large purchases and you have flexible point redemption options.
You can benefit from this card, one of the best credit cards for travel miles, for the following purchases:
- Advertising on Search Engines and Social Media
- Internet, cable and phone services
On these four purchase categories, you earn 3 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points on the first $150,000 in combined spending. All other purchases earn an unlimited 1 point per dollar spent. While earning up to 3 points on each dollar you spend is great, you also have some of the most valuable and flexible redemption options.
Each point is worth one cent each for cash rewards, gift cards, and Amazon shopping credit. But redeeming your points for award travel is better. Your points are worth 1.25 cents each when booking travel with Chase.
Or, you can transfer your points directly to airlines and hotels like United, Southwest Airlines, and Hyatt where your points can be worth more than 1.25 cents each by booking travel directly through the carrier.
Finally, you have the opportunity to earn 100,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $15,000 in the first 3 months. This bonus is worth $1,250 in award travel and happens to be the largest Chase Ultimate Rewards bonus offer.
Before you apply, know that any Chase Ink business credit card is subject to the Chase “5/24 Rule.” If you have at least five new credit cards in the most recent 24 months, your Ink Business Preferred application will be declined.
2. American Express Business Gold Card
The American Express® Business Gold Card lets you earn American Express Membership Rewards points. This card is a solid option if you want to earn bonus points on advertising purchases. You can earn up to 4x bonus points on tv, radio, and online advertising*. You can choose two bonus categories to earn 4 points per $1 for the first $150,000 spent annually:
- Airfare purchased directly from the airline
- Select advertising purchases (U.S. purchases only)
- Select technology providers of computer hardware, software, and cloud solutions (U.S. purchases only)
- Gas stations (U.S. purchases only)
- Restaurants (U.S. purchases only)
- Shipping (U.S. purchases only)
All other purchases earn an unlimited 1 point per $1 spent.
American Express Business Gold cardholders also have access to a Pay Over Time Option that lets cardholders decide whether they want to pay for their eligible purchases in full each month or pay over time with interest (terms apply).
New American Express® Business Gold Card cardholders can earn 70,000 points after spending $10,000 on eligible purchases with the Business Gold Card within the first 3 months of Card Membership.*
The annual fee is $295 (See Rates & Fees).
3. American Express Blue Business Cash Card
You might prefer earning tiered cash back rewards. The American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card does just that.
Cardholders earn 2% cash back on all eligible purchases on up to $50,000 per calendar year, then 1% cash back earned is automatically credited to your statement.
Some of the possibilities include advertising, plane tickets, hotel rooms, computer technology services, and dining or gas stations.
When you need to exceed your credit limit with a large purchase, you can do so with expanded buying power. Just remember, the amount you can spend above your credit limit is not unlimited. It adjusts with your use of the Card, your payment history, credit record, financial resources known to American Express and other factors.
New American Express Blue Business Cash™ Card cardholders can earn a $250 statement credit after making $3,000 in purchases on their Card in the first 3 months.
These bonuses can help with costly overhead fees, making this one of the best credit cards for dentists.
This card has no annual fee (See Rates & Fees).
4. Ink Business Cash Credit Card
If you want to maximize your office-related purchases, the Ink Business Cash® Credit Card doesn’t charge an annual fee. It’s also possible to earn more on certain purchases than the Chase Ink Business Preferred, which charges an annual fee. The Ink Business Cash is one of the best Chase business credit cards.
It’s possible to earn 5% back on the first $25,000 spent on combined purchases each card anniversary year at:
- Office supply stores
- Phone, internet, and cable providers
You also get 2% back on the first $25,000 in purchases at gas stations and restaurants. All remaining purchases earn 1% back. Your benefits don’t expire and there is no annual fee to worry about.
It’s possible to redeem your points for travel rewards, cash rewards, or gift cards. Your points are worth 1 cent each. Since this card doesn’t charge an annual fee, you don’t get a travel redemption bonus or 1:1 point transfers like the Ink Business Preferred.
New Ink Business Cash® Credit Card cardholders can earn $750 bonus cash back after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

The Spark Cash doesn’t charge a foreign transaction fee. Also, the annual fee is $0 the first year but $95 for each card renewal.

The Capital One Spark business card options are plentiful, which can help you find the right card for you.

New Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card cardholders can earn $750 bonus cash back after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.
