By now, everyone knows that Apple AirTags (currently on sale for a record-low price) are an essential gadget for travelers, helping to keep track of luggage, backpacks, wallets and more. But an AirTag is only useful if it has power, and its battery lasts about a year. If you’re heading on a trip, it’s crucial to check and replace your AirTag battery beforehand so you’re not left with a dead tracker when you need it most.

Why travelers should always check their Apple AirTag batteries

Losing luggage or personal items while traveling is stressful, but AirTags help track your belongings in real time. However, an AirTag with a dead battery won’t help you at all. Since CR2032 batteries typically last about a year, checking and replacing them before a trip ensures you have a reliable tracker when you need it most. At the time of this publication, these Panasonic coin batteries are 50% off.

Important Note: Some CR2032 batteries come with a bitter coating to deter children from swallowing them, but these may not be compatible with AirTags. Be sure to use a standard CR2032 battery without a bitter coating.

Apple AirTags are a game-changer for travelers, offering peace of mind when it comes to keeping track of valuables. But they’re only useful if their battery is working. Before your next trip, take a moment to check and replace your AirTag batteries so you can travel with confidence.

And if you don’t already own AirTags, now is the perfect time to get them. A four-pack is currently on sale for a record-low price of $69.99—an unbeatable deal for the peace of mind they provide.
