At the heart of the redesign are the new United Polaris Studio suites, an upgraded tier of business class that adds more space and high-end features to the front row of each business section. These eight lie-flat, all-aisle-access seats are 25% larger than the standard United Polaris suite and include privacy doors, wireless charging, Bluetooth, a massive 27-inch 4K OLED screen and an ottoman with a companion seatbelt for guests. Studio passengers will also enjoy amenity kits featuring Perricone MD skincare products, Saks Fifth Avenue bedding, exclusive hoodie-pajamas, slippers and upgraded dining with Ossetra caviar amuse-bouche and Champagne Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé.

The standard United Polaris seats are also getting a major boost. Now reimagined as suites with sliding doors, they offer 19-inch 4K OLED screens, wireless and USB-C charging, and more intuitive seat controls. For travelers who prefer solitude or togetherness, customers can choose between window-facing seats for added privacy or aisle-facing suites with dividers that lower for easier conversation. These cabins will still feature popular touches like the signature sundae cart, now with rotating flavors from Tillamook and new seasonal toppings.
Beyond business class, the Elevated interior delivers improvements across all cabins. United Premium Plus seats now come with wireless charging, a privacy divider with reading light, 16-inch 4K OLED screens and upgraded design touches typically reserved for Polaris, like quartzite cocktail tables.
Both United Economy and Economy Plus cabins will offer Bluetooth connectivity, 13-inch 4K OLED screens, the largest in economy class globally, and refreshed seats designed for better comfort and support. Each row also features six power outlets.
The 787-9’s Elevated interior includes a new onboard snack bar exclusively for Polaris customers, featuring premium snacks from brands like Garrett’s and Joe & Seph’s. Studio suite passengers will also receive a post-dessert curated snack box with a blend of sweet, salty and savory items. In-flight meals are also getting a refresh with regionally inspired tapas, rotating wine menus, Aperol Spritz cocktails and more entrée options across all cabins. Even international economy flyers can expect better food with coursed appetizers, fresh salads, new desserts and upgraded entrées.
United says it has invested more than $150 million in food and beverage improvements this year and that customer satisfaction scores are up 12% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to last year.
The Elevated interior will debut in late 2025, with initial long-haul service from San Francisco to London and Singapore beginning in 2026. Each 787-9 outfitted with the new layout will offer 99 premium seats, the highest percentage of premium seating among U.S. carriers. These aircraft will also be among the first in United’s widebody fleet to feature free Starlink internet for MileagePlus members. United plans to have about 30 Dreamliners with the Elevated interior in the air by 2027.
