Have you ever had a garden hose slip from your hands and start flying around out of control, spraying you and everything in its way? Well, imagine if that hose was filled with jet fuel instead of water. That’s what happened yesterday at Dallas–Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

A video posted on A Fly Guy Travels (embedded above) with the caption: “What was supposed to be a routine refuel for an American Eagle jet turned into a slippery situation at Dallas–Fort Worth Airport on Oct. 11, with jet fuel gushing like a Texas oil strike!”
What’s insane to me is the worker didn’t appear to be in a hurry at all to turn it off. I’m not sure if he couldn’t see with fuel in his eyes but I act a lot more frantically when it’s just water. Comments weren’t too kind as you can imagine:
Robert L.: How? He sure took his sweet time stopping the fuel. Can you say “FIRED.”
@Angeloinlisbon: Many aviation-related problems are happening in the States these days. I wonder why.
Rizza: Shut the damn pump off 🤦🏼♂️ Common sense is uncommon these days.
William S.: I anticipate a slight delay…
It seems to me that there are so many freak accidents happening. I don’t know if it’s the rise of smartphones, security cameras, and social media allowing anyone to become a reporter and media outlet, or if it’s a lack of training.
