You often hear stories about all kinds of critters and animals making their way onto planes. Depending on who you ask, the scariest is probably a snake and the most dangerous might be a rat since they’re known to chew wires, which could cause serious damage. One animal you don’t expect to see too often on a plane is a pigeon, but that’s exactly what happened in a viral video (see below).

According to ABC News, “A Delta flight had to delay takeoff from Minneapolis after not one, but two pigeons were found inside the plane. Baggage handlers eventually got ahold of the birds and removed them from the flight. According to a passenger, after travelers got back on the plane, a flight attendant made an announcement asking everyone to check under their seats and in their carry-on bags for any additional birds before they pulled away.”

Delta Air Lines aircraft at LAX.I’ll take pigeons over snakes or rats any day and the comments on social are pretty funny:

@adanielleprice007: They just dashed those birds dreams of finally seeing Paris 😭
@dan_pasquinade: These homing pigeons are getting lazy.
@shoo.fly.dont.bother.me: Every plane needs a cat

I would be checking my head and shoulders to see if one of them pooped on me. Moral of the story? If you hear cooing at 30,000 feet, it might not be your neighbor, it might just be a stowaway with feathers.
