Best time to book a cruiseI recently met with Bob Levinstein, CEO of CruiseCompete, a free and anonymous service that lets consumers compare multiple custom cruise offers from competing travel agents to find the best options for a cruise vacation (here’s how it works). Bob said to me that “the sweet spots to buy cruises are either 12-18 months in advance, or 6-7 weeks before sailing—just after final payments are due for others.”

Related: CruiseCompete also just released its CruiseTrends report for the month of May. The report is compiled from actual cruise queries and is meant to provide insight into what’s popular—and in demand—in cruising. Check it out here.
