A soon-to-be-viral video shows one of the most obscene midair tirades ever caught on film. A cross-country flight from Charlotte to Las Vegas turned chaotic when a passenger allegedly assaulted a flight attendant and threatened crew members, forcing the crew to restrain her with duct tape until landing.

American Airlines plane taking offAccording to a federal complaint filed in Las Vegas, the passenger identified as Ketty Dilone, 47, became disruptive on American Airlines Flight 2470 on September 16. Witnesses and investigators said she repeatedly walked the aisles, shouted at crew members and filmed other passengers despite being asked to stop.

The situation escalated when Dilone allegedly threatened flight attendants, shouting death threats and making aggressive gestures. When crew members attempted to calm her, she had to be restrained with flex cuffs and duct tape. There’s video of part of her tirade, which is not safe for work due to the language and content of what she says.

If I had been on the flight with my kids, I would have immediately taken out their iPads and headphones and told them to watch their favorite show. I definitely wouldn’t want them to hear what was going on around them.

Court documents state that Dilone then kicked a flight attendant twice, striking her in the legs and causing her to fall. Flight attendants ultimately restrained Dilone’s torso and legs with duct tape to prevent further assaults. The disruption forced crew members to reassign nearby passengers and remain standing guard over Dilone during descent, which interfered with their ability to prepare the cabin for landing.

Law enforcement met the plane at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas where Dilone was taken into custody by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department before being arrested by the FBI. Dilone is now facing two federal charges:

  • Interference with a flight crew (49 U.S.C. § 46504)
  • Assault by striking, beating or wounding (18 U.S.C. § 113)

If convicted, she could face significant prison time and fines. American Airlines has not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident.
